On the Sixth Day of Christmas...

We are halfway through our Christmas Countdown! Click here to start at the beginning and join in!

On the sixth day of Christmas, my babies left for me...

Six words from Scripture

Fiiiiiive precious children

Four changed lives

Three burning candles

Two tiny foot prints

And a super snuggly, striped blankie!

Six words from Scripture...
The six words I speak of are probably the most well-known words from the bible. They come from the gospel of John Chapter 3, verse 16, which starts by saying "For God so loved the world..." The verse goes on to say "that He gave His One and Only Son, that whosoever believes in Him would not perish, but have everlasting life." During my pregnancy with Chloe in 2006, I began to really dig in to God's Word. I have been comforted so much through reading His Word and through learning of His love for me. This verse, in particular shows His love for each and every one of us. A love so strong that He gave His Son, Jesus, for each and every one of us. Thank you for sending Your Son!

Six words from a favorite hymn: STANDING ON THE PROMISES OF GOD. I remember singing this song especially as a child, and I remember how the words and melody were simple enough that our rather small Baptist congregation would belt it out at the top of our lungs. A simple message...we can trust our God, because HE follows through on his promises to usleu. And I will continue to rest in MY savior as my "all in all".

Standing on the promises of Christ my King!
Through eternal ages let his praises ring!
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing!
Standing on the promises of God.

(Refrain:)
Standing, standing,
standing on the promises of Christ my Savior!
Standing, standing...
I'm standing on the promises of God!

Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
when the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
by the living Word of God I shall prevail,
standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises I now can see,
perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me,
standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,
standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
bound to him eternally by love's strong cord,
overcoming daily with the Spirit's sword,
standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises I cannot fall,
listening every moment to the Spirit's call,
resting in my Savior as my all in all,
standing on the promises of God.
