Taking Time to Pause

Tonight, I sit with a heart full of excitement and anticipation, having taken in day one of She Speak 2010, and looking forward to experiencing all God has ordained as the weekend unfolds. While I could easily rattle off a list of "highlights" so far, I want to take some time to just pause and share a few thoughts about my time here tonight.

I just left the "prayer room" that they have set up here at the conference. It's a special place, a refuge in a way. As I sat in the prayer room and dug into God's Word, I was struck by the fact that a year ago, nearly to the date, I sat and cried (and cried and cried and cried!) in that very room with two precious Sisters in Christ. I poured my heart out in response to all that God was showing me, all the while experiencing a miscarriage at six weeks along. So, a year later, I'm back at the conference, back in the prayer room, and remembering my baby who left far too soon. Still, as I sat in that prayer room, I was comforted by these familiar verses...

"My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."
Psalm 139:15-16

And...

"The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; your love, O Lord, endures forever - do not abandon the works of Your hands."
Psalm 138:8

What comfort! God knows each one of us so intimately. He knows each and every one of our precious babies too, ladies. Each day is ordained in accord with His perfect and precious plan. He fulfills His purposes for me, and my babies, and His love endures forever. I am amazed that He would ever choose to call me to Himself, but oh so thankful He has. And guess what friends....He's calling each one of you too! First, into a direct relationship with Him through the precious sacrifice of His Son, Jesus. Then, to become the woman He created you to be, glorifying His name through the redemptive life you live.
