Hungry

An empty stomach leads to hunger.

Dictionary.com terms hunger as a compelling need or desire for food, and even goes on to describe it as the painful sensation or state of weakness caused by the need of food. I think most of us are fortunate enough that we don't have to go hungry for long before we can satisfy our hunger with good meal.

If you're at all like me, empty is a good word to describe the way you feel emotionally and physically from the loss of your precious child. And with this emptiness, comes hunger. Not for food, but for something MUCH more. Something to fill the painful void. Something to make it all better. Something to simply carry you through the heartache.

Have you found that "something" to satisfy this so called "hunger?" Let me rephrase that, have you found that "someone" to satisfy your emptiness?

I have AWESOME news mommies! We all have someone to satisfy our hunger - to replace the emptiness with a fullness that cannot be experienced by any other means.

We have Jesus. And Jesus will satisfy. He will satisfy your deepest hunger if you give yourself fully to Him.

If you've never trusted in Jesus as your Savior. This would be your first step. The Bible tells us that we begin by acknowledging that we have sinned and that there is nothing we can do to earn our way into God's love (Romans 3:23-26). We believe and confess that Jesus is Lord (Romans 10:9) and allow Him to guide our lives. Where we once wanted to control our own futures, we now allow Jesus into our hearts to be our Lord.

If Jesus is your Lord, read God's Word and pray. Jesus will comfort you, the Holy Spirit will enlighten you, and God will guide you.

Here are the lyrics to a song called "Hungry" by Kathryn Scott. Listen to the song by selecting it on the playlist at the bottom of this page and then follow along with the lyrics below.

Hungry, I come to you
For I know You satisfy
I am empty, but I know
Your love does not run dry

So I wait for you
So I wait for You
I’m falling on my knees
Offering all of me
Jesus, You’re all this heart is living for

Broken, I run to You
For Your arms are open wide
I am weary, but I know
Your touch restores my life

So I wait for you
So I wait for You
I’m falling on my knees
Offering all of me
Jesus, You’re all this heart is living for

Praying that Jesus will satisfy your hunger today, tomorrow and forever.

I am so thankful to have Jesus Christ in my heart and walking me through my grief journey. I can't imagine experiencing it without Him to cling to.
